Jonathan Henderson is the Director of Bands at Martha Puckett Middle School and has been teaching since 2021. In addition to his duties at Martha Puckett, Mr. Henderson serves as an assistant on staff with the Wayne County High School Marching Band.

 

Since assuming the directorship at Martha Puckett, Mr. Henderson has overseen significant growth in both the size and caliber of the program. Under his direction, students have earned Superior ratings at LGPE and have represented the program at honor band events throughout the region.

 

Mr. Henderson holds a Bachelor's Degree from Troy University, completing a focused course of study in Music, Education, and Performance. His primary instrument is Tuba, and his performance experience spans jazz, brass, and marching ensembles at both the high school and collegiate levels. During his time at North Oconee High School, Mr. Henderson served as Drum Major and Section Leader before continuing as Section Leader at Troy University, where he performed with the Troy University Symphony Band and served as Vice President of the Sound of the South Marching Band. Mr. Henderson currently performs with the Coastal Brass Coir.

 

Mr. Henderson's professional affiliations include the Georgia Music Educators Association, the National Association for Music Education, and Kappa Kappa Psi National Honorary Band Fraternity.
